Obituary


Ronald B. Gardner, age 54, of Billerica passed away unexpectedly February 24, 2025, following a long period of declining health due to kidney disease. Born in Woburn he was the son of Maureen M. (Angelo) Gardner of Billerica and the late Ronald P. Gardner.

Ron was raised in Billerica and was a 1989 graduate of Billerica Memorial High School. Following high school, he went on to further his education at Middlesex Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Journalism. Ron loved to write and especially enjoyed writing about sports. Over the years he has had a number of his articles published in the Billerica Minuteman Newspaper as well as several other publications. Ron also worked as a technician for twenty years with Comcast until his health kept him from working.

Growing up he was very active in athletics. He played youth hockey and baseball. He played college Baseball while attending Middlesex Community College and continued playing sports as an adult in Men's Hockey as a goalie and playing Men's Softball here in Woburn. In his leisure time he enjoyed attending Red Sox and Bruins games. He was a collector of baseball cards and sports memorabilia and was always up to date and current on what was going on in the world of professional sports. Ronald also loved animals and helping to care for his daughter's many pets.

In addition to his beloved mother, Ronald is survived by his cherished daughter, Brittani Gardner of Billerica. He was the brother of Jeffrey Gardner of Waltham and Stacey Gardner of Nashua, NH. Godson of Susan Evans of Henderson, NV and is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sadly, Ronald is predeceased by one of his closest and dearest friends, the late Jim Pvirre.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday, February 28th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a prayer service beginning at 3 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, Attn: Gift Processing at National Kidney Foundation HQ, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or the Joslin Diabetes Center, Inc., 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215
