Peter Paul Klich, 90, of Franklin died February 24 at Vantage Health and Rehabilitation in Milford following a brief illness. He was the husband of Roberta (Munroe) Klich for the past 58 years.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, June 19, 1934, the son of the late James and Elizabeth Klich, Peter was raised in Pittsburgh and had lived in Medway for 38 years prior to moving to Franklin 20 years ago.
Peter proudly served in the Air Force, during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Airman First Class, assigned to the Air Police within the Strategic Air Command.
After his time in the military, Peter worked security for North American Aviation in California. Upon settling on the east coast, he worked as a machinist at Cott Beverage in Millis, MA and then United Shoe Machinery in Medway, MA. Following this, he returned to his security roots and worked many years for Digital Equipment Corporation and EMC as a security guard. Peter’s last job was at the Franklin Stop & Shop, where he worked for several years, before retiring at the age of 82.
As a husband and father, he worked multiple jobs at a time throughout his life, to provide the best for his family.
In his leisure time, he preferred to just relax at home watching TV, but enjoyed taking day trips throughout New England. He was not one to routinely take a long vacation or cruise, but always enjoyed the occasional weeklong trip to Walt Disney World.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Robert Raymond, and his wife Robin, of Bradenton Beach, Florida and James Klich of Franklin.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shelby Ouellette, and her husband Derrick, of New Hampshire, and Colby Krafton, and her husband Joe, of New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his great-grandson Reece Krafton.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com , 3 Barber Street, Medway at Noon.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Medway.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 28 from 10:00-Noon in the funeral home.
