Pamela Ann (Fichter) Martin, 74, of Whitman, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
Born on July 21, 1950, in Boston, Pamela was the daughter of the late Francis Fichter and Helen (DiBona) Carroll. She later moved to Brockton, where she graduated from high school. Pamela dedicated many years to public service as Whitman’s Town Clerk from 1986 to 2012, leaving a lasting impact on her community.
Pamela’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She cherished countless moments of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories with those closest to her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John M. Martin, with whom she shared a loving and fulfilling life. Pamela is also survived by her sister, Theresa, and her husband, Bernard Rhode of Carver; her niece, Helene, and her husband, Chris Owen, of Wareham; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were deeply important to her.
She is predeceased by her loving sister Barbara Neville.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pamela's life during visiting hours on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) in Whitman. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial immediately after at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 N. Main Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
