WEBSTER – Rhea T. (Gelineau) Chauvin, 95, died Monday, February 24, 2025 in Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Methuen, after a period of declining health. Her husband of 63 years, Alberic B. Chauvin, died in 2011.
She leaves 4 children, Georgianna L. Przybylek and her husband Francis of Hiram, GA, Bernard W. Chauvin and his wife Nancy of Dudley, Philip P. Chauvin and his wife Diana of Webster, and Theresa A. Martin and her husband Brian of Hampton, NH; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Felix “Phil” Gelineau and Roger Gelineau, by her sisters Loretta Jalbert and Connie Desabris, and by her granddaughter Amanda Chauvin.
She was born in Lake Worth FL on September 5, 1929, a daughter of Joseph and Henrietta (Noiseux) Gelineau and lived in Webster most of her life. She resided at Christopher Heights for the last 10 years.
Mrs. Chauvin worked in the calendar department at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley for many years. She then drove school buses for Bay Path in Charlton for over 25 years, retiring in 2005 at age 76.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and later worshiped at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster (please meet at the church). Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
