Obituary

Fouad J. “Fred” Thomas, 90, of Worcester died Saturday, February 22nd at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Mouna (Boutros) Thomas; his children, Joseph Thomas and his wife, Jennifer of Irvine, CA, Toffy Thomas and his wife, Vanessa of Shrewsbury, and Kathy Castro and her husband, John of North Attleboro; a sister, Rosette Barsouna of Lebanon; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Michel Thomas, Youssef Tannous, and Toufea Thomas; a sister, Naley Nakhle; and his uncle Ibrahim Al Hallal.
He was born in Chekka, Lebanon the son of Georges Tannous Al Hallal and Moura Boutros and immigrated to the United States in 1968. Fred was a devout member of Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Catholic Church, where his faith was a guiding force in his life. Fred's home was a haven for family and friends. He loved a full house, relishing the lively gatherings that filled his space with laughter and warmth. His door was always open, welcoming loved ones to share in good times and create lasting memories. His kindness, warmth, and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
His funeral is Saturday, March 1st with Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Catholic Church, 341 June Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, February 28th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
