Stephen Cowie passed away peacefully at his Malden home on February 20th. He was 71. Raised in Arlington, he was the son of the late James H. and Marie C. (Cienzo) Cowie.
Stephen was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He worked throughout his life as a truck driver. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and rode Harleys all his life. For decades he went to bike week in Laconia and he and Denise enjoyed long rides up the coast into New Hampshire and Maine. Stephen and Denise also made annual trips to Las Vegas. Stephen was a happy guy who appreciated the simple pleasures in life. He loved time with his family and friends and adored his cats.
The beloved husband of Denise Balboni Cowie, Stephen was the devoted father of Stephen R. Cowie, Jr and his partner Skyler Judkins. He was the dear son-in-law of Beverly Balboni and brother-in-law of Cheryl Ford and Michelle Balboni. He was the loving brother of the late Jimmy Cowie and leaves his beloved nephew Joe Richard.
The family is planning a celebration of Stephen’s life in the spring.
