Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paul Thomas Kelley announces his peaceful passing at his home in Medford, MA, surrounded by his family, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 93. Paul was born on April 22, 1931, to Michael and Mary (Phelan) Kelley in Somerville, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen "Dolly" (Analetto) Kelley, whom he married in 1955. Just as all the planets aligned, Paul passed away on the same day as Helen's birthday.

Paul was a proud lifelong resident of Somerville, where he owned and operated P.T. Kelley, Inc., a utility construction company that employed many local neighborhood kids over the years. His advice, infused with wit and wisdom, was a trove of insight that, although sometimes tough to hear, left you feeling inspired and eager to learn more. For over 50 years, Paul and his family cherished summers spent together at their cottage at Conomo Point in Essex, MA, where countless memories were made.

Paul is survived by his children, Paul (Karen Celata), Stephen, and Maureen (Douglas Woodman). He was a loving grandfather to Christopher, Brian, Brendan, Colleen, Vanessa, Erica, Jacqueline, and Brianna. Paul was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Ava, Hannah, Emma, Violet, Dolly, Lulu, Jack, Jameson, Joey, Teddy, Frankie, and Beau. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings: Donald, Norma, and Virginia.

Throughout his later years, Paul was lovingly cared for by a team of special caregivers, including Laura, Evelyn, Susan & Company, Caesar, Michael, and Moise, to whom the family is profoundly grateful. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Care Dimensions of Danvers for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to L. Dexter Woodman Family Foundation or Perkins School for the Blind Library.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, February 26th, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass Celebrated at St. Raphael's Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
