Worcester – Maryanne (Norwood) Bishop, 70, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Maryanne is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dennis R. Bishop; a son Dennis R. Bishop Jr. of Charlton; a brother, Mark Norwood of Worcester; two sisters, Deborah Dupuis of Worcester and Patricia Dupuis of Webster and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Keith M. Bishop who passed away in 1984.
Maryanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George E. and Carol A. (Uppstrom) Norwood and attended Doherty Memorial High School.
Mrs. Bishop worked for 33 years with Price Chopper Supermarkets, first as a clerk in the deli department and then worked for many years and retired from the bakery department.
Maryanne enjoyed being with her family, and cherished the moments she was able to spend with them. She never missed an opportunity to take care of her family and enjoyed taking small trips with her husband, especially to the White Mountains.
Funeral services are being held privately with burial alongside her son in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Maryanne may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute PO Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
