Barbara Ann Duffield (August 18, 1947 – February 16, 2025)
Barbara Ann Duffield, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Newton, MA, on August 18, 1947, Barbara lived most of her life in Needham, MA.
She was married for 53 years to the love of her life, John "Mac" Duffield, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Barbara was a devoted mother to her two sons, Ian Duffield (wife Amy) of Madison, FL, and Zach Duffield (wife Lauren) of Wrentham, MA. She was also a loving sister to Mario Belsanti of Sharon, MA, and Maria Belsanti of Billings, MT.
Barbara had a passion for life and an undeniable love for tennis and golf. Whether swinging a racket on the tennis court or perfecting her game on the fairway, she found joy in competition, camaraderie, and the friendships she built along the way. She was also an avid fan of the Tour de France, never missing a chance to watch the race and cheer on her favorite cyclists.
In addition to her love of athletics, Barbara was known for her incredible Italian cooking, especially her legendary red sauce and meatballs. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where meals were made with love.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her warmth, kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Needham MA.
