Obituary

Edward J. Celata, 73, of Pelham, passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda A. (Mardirosian) Celata, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage until her passing in 2023.

Born in Everett, MA, on March 22, 1951, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (LoRusso) Celata. Edward grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett Vocational High School.

Edward had a lifelong passion for carpentry, painting, and home improvement. He turned his love for the craft into a career, working for many years in restaurant management before founding Final Touch Painting in Tewksbury. Known to many as “Eddie the Painter,” he took great pride in his work, helping family, friends, and neighbors bring their projects to life.

Beyond his career, Edward found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time at the casino, watching classic television - especially game shows, and he cherished time spent with his dog Daisy. He will be remembered by many for his love of outlandish and quirky holiday decorations.

Edward is survived by his three children: Lisa Kelly and her husband, David, of Lowell; Karen Bielecki and her husband, Greg, of Tewksbury; and John Celata and his wife, Lisa, of Pelham. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Lauren, Camryn, and Kaydence.

You are welcome to attend his calling hours on Wednesday February 26, 2025 from 4pm until 6pm at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Animal Rescue Network of New England at arnne.org
