Obituary

Helen "Sue" Diodato, of South Weymouth (formely of Plymouth), passed with grace, at the age of 67.
She was the beloved mother to Mark Diodato. Also survived by her sisters, Rosemarie and Edna, and brothers Ernie, Rene, and John. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her longtime friend, Kevin.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rosemarie and Ernest Hanson; her sons, Donnie and Jake; and also her late husband, Donald.
Sue, in her earlier years, paired up with her mom selling Avon together. She also worked for the Plimoth Candy Company located on the waterfront in Plymouth. There, she made saltwater taffy, lollipops, etc. She enjoyed interacting with the many tourists from all over the world who would visit America's Hometown.
In her pastime, Sue enjoyed making lollipops with her son Jake, knitting, arts and crafts, bargain shopping, going to the movies, bowling, and playing Scrabble with friends. Her all-time favorite was listening to the music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Foremost, she was known as a highly spiritual person.
Mark and she spent a lot of time together; if it wasn't shopping, it would be going on one of their fun trips together. Most recently they went to Florida to visit family and another trip to see one of her favorite singers, Sam Smith. She enjoyed the trips, and most of all, she enjoyed and appreciated Mark for all of his compassion and support throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life for Sue will be held on Saturday, May 31st between the hours of noon and 4pm at the Marshfield Elks Lodge (next to Gerard Farm) located at 1321 Ocean Street, Marshfield, Mass.
We will be gathering to share some of our favorite memories and stories of Sue, remembering her as a wonderful person with a big heart and who will be greatly missed by many.
