Roy A. Nelson 85
METHUEN – Roy A. Nelson age 85 died Friday July 21, 2006 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre.
Born in Centerville, Rhode Island, he graduated from West Warwick High School with the Class of 1938. He also attended Bryant College in Providence, RI and received a degree in Business Administration. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and was honrably discharged. For 35 years he was the office manager for Allied Chemical in Andover, MA. He was also an attendant of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA, where he was a member of St. Monica’s Legion of Mary.
According to his family he enjoyed golf, baseball, football and was very active in the Toast Masters. He also played semi pro football for the West Warwick Merchants.
The widower of Eunice C. (Ricci) Nelson he is survived by 3 sons, Roy E. Nelson and his wife Janet of Methuen, Andrew J. Nelson and his wife Susan of Derry, NH, Stephen J. Nelson and his wife Dolores of Sprinfield, MA.
6 grandchildren, several neices nephews.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00a.m. at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Warwick, RI.
