Sherry J. (Long) Muirhead of Franklin MA & Nashua NH
Sherry was born in Framingham, MA on May 13, 1951, she was the third child and first daughter of Russell and Grace Long; she grew up in Saxonville with her 3 brothers, 4 sisters and surrounded by her extended family.
She attended and graduated from Framingham High School in June 1969, she was a member of Western Horseman Association with her parents, and this is where she met her future husband and best friend, Philip.
On June 21, 1969, she married the love of her life, Philip and they settled in Franklin, MA and welcomed 2 children, Phil Jr and Kim. After 27 years living on Russell Street, they made the move to Southern New Hampshire and have been living there since 1998.
Early on, Sherry was involved in leadership of Cub Scouts, spent years on the planning committees for Franklin Boy Scouts and spent her life being the biggest fan of her children and grandchildren.
Professional, she was a pivotal piece in the success of the family Automobile dealership and repair shop in both Needham and Canton; then moved onto outside Automotive Groups and ended her career in the Administration division of Campers Inn.
Sherry and Phil loved to travel together and had great adventures throughout the States, Hawaii, Mexico but her most memorable trip, their dream cruise throughout Alaska.
Sherry lost her hard battle with cancer on Monday, February 17th surrounded by family at Mass General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Grace, her brothers Rick, Steven and sister Cindy. She survived by her loving husband Philip Sr, son, Phil Jr, daughter, Kimberly, granddaughters, Katarina Keeler (Steven), Jessica Walker, Samatha Muirhead and Mackenzie Muirhead. Siblings, Crystal, Rob, Sandy, Lorna, and many nieces, nephews and so many amazing friends.
Visitation services will be held at The Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. on Monday, February 24th from 4pm – 7pm, followed by a funeral service at 10am Tuesday the 25th, Officiated by Pastor, Mark Dahlberg.
Sherry will rest in peace at the Needham Cemetery in Needham, MA on Tuesday, February 25, 2025
