Susan I. Beck, 77, of Beck’s Way in Glocester, passed away on Tuesday February 18th in the Crystal Lake Nursing Home, Burrillville. She was the wife of Daniel “Danny” Beck. They had been married for 57 years.
Born in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth (Daniels) Branum. She had lived in Harmony for almost 50 years, previously living in Plant City, Florida.
She had been a self-employed Nanny for many children with whom she had still been in contact with. Susan had been a USO Hostess in Jacksonville, Florida when she met Danny. Danny tells the story of how Susan chased after him until he caught her.
She had been a member of the former Women’s Auxiliary of the Harmony Fire Department.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Randy Beck and his wife Laura of Woonsocket and Amy D. Turgeon and her husband Randy of Labelle, FL. She had 5 grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 24th at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A luncheon will be held next door at the Greenville Baptist Church, immediately following the service. Visitation respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Harmony Fire District, 194 Putnam Pike, Glocester, RI 02814.
