Charles J. “Jimmy” McCorkle
March 6, 1941- February 18, 2025
Charles J. “Jimmy” McCorkle, 83, formerly of Anderson passed away on February 18, 2025 at IU Health Bloomington following a brief illness.
He was born on March 6, 1941 in Greenfield, IN to the late Forest “Doc” McCorkle and Juanita (Marshall) Logsdon. He lived most of his life in Anderson until 1992 when he moved to Bloomington, IN.
He worked in an office at Indiana University assembling products for almost 20 years. When he lived in Anderson he worked at the Hopewell Center.
He enjoyed watching sports especially IU Basketball, Indiana Pacers, and wrestling. He loved watching western movies, playing cards and bingo.
He is survived by his stepmother, Mary Ellen McCorkle of Pendleton; a brother, Larry McCorkle of Anderson; a sister, Donna (Neil) Anderson of Fortville; a niece, Tina (Mike) White of Cicero; and two great nephews, Devin White and Logan White; five step-nieces and nephews, Scott (Nikki) Anderson, Sarah (Glenn) Wallace, Tom (Amanda) Anderson, Joe Anderson and Kelsey (Max) Ramsey; several step-great nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forest “Doc” McCorkle; his mother, Juanita Logsdon; a brother, Dan McCorkle.
Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Cable officiating. The burial will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Cemetery aka Finks Corner Cemetery in Osgood, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 11:30am to 1:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.
