Michael F. Arutunian, 68, a longtime Waltham and Lowell resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lowell on Friday, February 14th. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Edmunds) Arutunian and father of son Joseph M. Arutunian.
He was born on May 28, 1956 in Everett, a son of the late Arthur Arutunian and the late Aline (Bourgeouis) Arutunian. He was raised in Waltham where he made many life long friends and memories. Upon his graduation from Waltham High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country for 4 years before his honorable discharge. He was proud to share his many stories about his time overseas in Scotland, Cuba and then ended his service in Newport, Rhode Island. While in the Navy he was trained as an electrician. Following his service and training, he began his career as an electrician where he worked in the trade for an illustrious 45 years, making many friends along the way.
Mike was happiest at home with his family
and dogs by his side. He loved his grandkids, listening to music, and watching his favorite episodes of The Three Stooges and MASH. Along with his wife of 44 years, Carol, he is survived by his son, Joseph M. Arutunian, his wife, Erica Arutunian, and his grandsons, Thomas and Nolan Arutunian. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Byrne, his brother Neal Arutunian, and many-many in laws.
He was the brother of the late Ronald Arutunian.
Last but not least, he leaves behind his dog, Sadie.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no visiting hours or traditional funeral at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, which will be announced here when the time comes.
