Matthew Joseph Puntoni, 35, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 19, 2025, surrounded by family. He worked so very hard to stay in this world with his family and friends after being diagnosed with brain cancer four years ago. Much loved son of Christine and Ray Puntoni, Lakewood Ranch, FL, brother of RJ and wife Valerie and uncle to Julien and Jamison, Andover, MA, and brother of Becca and husband Matt, Arvada, CO. Matt sadly leaves dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends missing his smile.
Matt grew up in Andover, MA and was a graduate of Andover High School class of 2007. He was active in town and high school soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams. He attended University of Connecticut and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in 2011. While working in the finance sector in Boston he obtained his MBA from Boston College. He was an avid Boston sports and UConn fan and attended multiple championship games for both teams in recent years. He enjoyed playing golf and bocce, going on family vacations, playing poker and visits to the Encore right up to the end. He especially enjoyed sharing these activities with friends and family.
Matt wanted to make sure everyone knows he is grateful for the love and support from his family and friends, and for the care he received from the MGH Neuro Oncology team. His bravery and strength will be remembered by many and he asked that we all remember him as being a good friend. Matt’s family asks that you keep him in your hearts as the kind and loving spirit he will always be.
