Obituary

Leo Allan Beaton, 88 of Londonderry, NH passed away on Sunday February 16, 2025, at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry after a period of declining health. Leo was born September 24, 1936, in East Boston, MA and was a son of the late Joseph and Bridget (Byrne) Beaton. Leo was raised in East Boston and Everett, MA and moved with his family to East Derry in 1967 until his retirement in 1998. He lived in Londonderry for several years, and he and his wife wintered for many years in Bonita Springs, FL.

Leo was a truck driver most of his working life and a longtime member of Teamsters Local 25 of Boston, MA. He drove for Associated Transport and Pacific Mountain Express and retired from Freeman Tradeshow, Exhibit and Event Company of Boston.

Leo loved planting, gardening and landscaping, spending hours out in the sun with his yard and gardens. He had a lifelong love for cars and cherished his T-Birds. He will forever be remembered for his dry and quick sense of humor and his appreciation for a good dessert.
Members of the family include his son and his wife, David A. and Sonia Beaton, his daughter and her husband, Denise and Robert Gagnon, five grandchildren, Dylan J. Beaton, Dakota-Lee Dumont and her husband Erik Gile, Nicholas Demars, Heather Gagnon and Jennifer Gagnon and two great grandchildren, Anthony David and Emma L. Beaton. Leo was predeceased by his wife of 52 years and love of his life, Anita L. Beaton in 2010 and his beloved son Joseph in 2011.

Calling hours will be Tuesday February 25th from 5 to 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial will follow Forest Hill Cemetery E. Derry.
