Obituary

DIXON, Holly (Hagan) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving children - daughter Allyson Dixon of Dedham, son Travis Dixon and wife Jaclyn of Walpole. Holly was a devoted grandmother and cherished these recent years spent nurturing close relationships with her two young granddaughters, Natalie and Samantha. She is predeceased by her husband, the late Dennis J. Dixon, who remained her best friend and devoted partner for 46 years until his passing in 2020. Together, Holly and Dennis raised their family in Dedham, serving as active members of a special community enhanced by her volunteerism.

Holly was born on December 13, 1949 to parents Joseph R. and Rita (Chartier) Hagan of Roslindale. She leaves behind siblings: Constance Garland and husband James of Cranston, RI, Linda Rule and husband Richard of Tupper Lake, NY, Joseph Hagan and wife Carolyn of Foxboro. She was predeceased by brother George Hagan and wife Patricia of Brockton. She also enjoyed time spent with her 9 nephews, their spouses, and children.

Holly was truly proud of her “Rozzie” roots having spent her early years involved in the Boston neighborhood and as a graduate of the former Roslindale High School. She and Dennis met in Radiography school and enjoyed careers together as Radiology Technicians. In her 40+ years as a Dedham resident, she developed exceptionally close ties to her community by serving others through diverse philanthropic and civic projects. As a young mother, while maintaining a career, Holly volunteered with various organizations including: Dedham Junior Women’s Club, Fairbanks Garden Club, Oakdale School PTA serving as President, Days for Girls Organization, The Angel Gown Program, DHS Booster Club, Brownie Troop Leader, and served as Props Manager and Costume Designer for Norwood’s Fiddlehead Theatre, gaining and maintaining countless friendships along the way.

She built a legacy that reflects her understated noble character and she will be sincerely missed by all who were privileged to know and love her.
