Leora Kiler Pendleton passed away quietly with her husband close by in the early morning hours of January 15, 2024. Leora was born in San Diego to Alice Granfield Kiler and Robert Kiler. She spent all but seven of her 83 years in California, with the last 50 in Ventura. In 1963, while living in Carmel and working at the Bank of America branch at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, she met her future husband, Navy Lieutenant Reid Pendleton. They married in 1965, you remained so until her passing.
Leora Pendleton is survived by her husband, Reid of Ventura, daughters Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Sporleder of Watsonville, Catherine (Cathy) Pendleton of San Jose, grandsons Nicholas Sporleder and Marcus Reid Sporleder of Watsonville and Niku Agahian of San Jose, and granddaughter Ani Agahian of San Jose. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alice Kiler and Robert Kiler, half brother Robert Granfield, and by her beloved son, the late Robert Reid Pendleton. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Pacific Crest Hospice personnel, and home healthcare aide Crystal. They took extraordinary and loving care of Leora until the end.
A celebration of life service will be held at the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY at 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura on February 28 at 2 PM, with Reverend Michelle Hubbard, Chaplain with Pacific Chest Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura, CA.
