David Paul Daley, 65, of Derry, NH, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire.
David was born on July 12, 1959 in Malden, MA, son of Donald and Gertrude (Burke) Daley. He raised a beautiful family with his wife, Linda, and worked tirelessly to provide for them, finally retiring from a fulfilling career with National Grid in 2022 (formerly Keyspan, and formerly Boston Gas Company). David was known by many for his sense of humor, and his family remembers fondly how he loved to garden and cook homemade meals for them. Though he was a man of few words, he didn’t need many to make a lasting impression. His presence brought comfort, warmth, and laughter to all those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughter Leah, son-in-law Chris and grandson Jackson; son Ryan and daughter-in-law Katie; his mother Trudy; step-mother Patricia; sisters Donna and Sandie and brother-in-law Bob; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. David was a beloved husband, son, father, and friend to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
A celebration of David’s life will be held this Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry, NH, with reception to follow in Haverhill, MA.
In lieu of flowers, David’s family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in his honor, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. The ADA is leading the charge to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
