Raymond A. Fontaine, Sr., 80, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jo-Elizabeth (Comstock) Fontaine.
Mr. Fontaine was born in Westport, son of the late Ovila and Emilia (Valliere) Fontaine. In his earlier years he worked as a farmer, an occupation he loved. He later worked for Simeone Construction as a batchman. Following retirement, he and his wife relocated to Florida. His favorite pastime was playing cribbage and other card games with family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son: Raymond A. Fontaine, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Swansea; his 2 daughters: Jody F. Soares and her husband Joseph of E. Freetown and Rebecca J. Brodeur and her husband William of Swansea; 3 brothers: Albert Fontaine of Westport, Norman Fontaine of Swansea and Roger Fontaine of FL; 8 grandchildren: Crystal Laliberte, Amber Pherber, Joanna-Marie Soares, Eric Soares, Dalton Fontaine, Shelby Machado, William Brodeur, Jr. & Daniel Brodeur; 4 great grandchildren: Nora Elizabeth Soares, Nolan Anderson Laliberte, Faith Constance Laliberte and Myles Joseph Soares, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Robert Fontaine, Theresa Thibodeau, Paul "Butch" Fontaine and Gerald Fontaine.
Friends and family are invited Friday, February 21, 2025 to the Potter Funeral Home in Westport for a visitation from 5-6:30 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 P.M.
Interment will be private.
