Worcester: Candace (Hickcox) Allen, 87, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025 in Knollwood Nursing Center. She leaves her husband of 64 years, Owen F. Allen; a daughter Deborah L. Allen of Chelmsford; 2 sons- Scott Allen of RI and Eric Allen of NY; 3 grandchildren; and a sister-in-law.
Candace, known as Candy to almost everyone, was born in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Howard and Marjorie (Millard) Hickcox. She graduated from Central CT State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She devoted herself over the years to homemaking, raising her children, teaching Sunday School and serving capably as Church School Superintendent at Methodist churches in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Clarence, NY, Bangor, ME, and Boyertown, PA, while also enjoying arts and crafts and scrapbooking.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring in Epworth United Methodist Church 64 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609. There are no calling hours. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
