EPSOM ---- Linda Louise Riel, 75, of Epsom, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Linda was born on May 30, 1949, in Pittsfield, NH, the daughter of Leslie and Gladys (Corson) Ordway.
Linda's love for family and tradition illuminated every aspect of her life, creating cherished memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew her. She delighted in supporting her grandchildren's pursuits and bringing joy to family gatherings. Her passion for travel took her on countless adventures, from relaxing ocean cruises to fun-filled camping expeditions, always with loved ones by her side. She extended her loving embrace not only to her human family but also to her beloved four-legged furry pets. As an avid reader, she found joy in quiet moments spent with a good book.
A woman of deep Christian faith and remarkable compassion, Linda touched countless lives through her generous spirit and caring nature. Her skillful hands created beautiful quilts that she lovingly donated to those in need, while her kind heart led her to help others through simple acts of kindness, whether offering groceries to a struggling neighbor or sharing words of encouragement. Her zest for life, grounded in prayer and Bible study, radiated through her interactions with others, leaving an enduring legacy of love, faith, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Gary Riel, son Shawn Riel of Pembroke, NH, daughter Katie Meehan and her husband Andrew of Barnstead, NH, son Kevin Riel and his wife Jennifer of Barnstead, NH, six grandchildren, Connor Meehan, Devin Riel, Dawson Meehan, Abigail Riel, Mackenzie Meehan and Elisabeth Riel, sister Carol Gidcumb of Morgantown, KY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda is predeceased by her siblings, Sandra Ordway, Harry Ordway, Gloria Drown and Leslie Ordway, Jr.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 3:00pm, at the Epsom Bible Church, 398 Black Hall Road, Epsom, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Linda’s name can be made to a charity of your choice or the Epsom Bible Church Benevolence Fund.
