Obituary

Brenda F. McKenna, 75, of Danielson, CT, formerly of Woonsocket, died peacefully Thursday February 13, 2025 at Colonial Health and Rehab Center in Plainfield, CT. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond P. McKenna, Sr. Brenda and Ray shared their lives together for over 40 years devoted to each other until his passing in 2011.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, Brenda was a daughter of the late Maurice and Pauline (Menard) Plante. She was a resident of the city for most of her life before relocating to Danielson in 2014. Brenda also lived briefly in Montreal, P.Q. Canada.
In her earlier years Brenda worked for Fenwall Electronics in Woonsocket. She later became a caregiver for Community Resources for Justice helping with clients who resided in group home settings.
Brenda was a regular at BINGO at Precious Blood Church where she had countless hours of fun and camaraderie.
Brenda loved and cared for her family beyond measure. Her favorite role in life was being a grandmother, and boy-o-boy did Brenda love her grandchildren, to the moon and back!
Brenda is survived by her two sons Raymond McKenna Jr. and his wife Deborah of Seekonk and Shawn McKenna, Sr. and his wife Jennifer of Danielson, CT and her three daughters Donna Milano and her husband Richard of Woonsocket, Pamela Pierce of Kansas and Kelly McKenna of Woonsocket. Brenda is survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren - hugs and kisses to all of you from Memere Brenda!
She was the sister of Bruce Plante and his wife Claudette of Woonsocket and the late Wayne Plante and Sandra Carpentier and her husband Fred. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Brenda’s family takes special comfort in the fact that she is now reunited in heaven with her late grandson Shawn W. McKenna, Jr. who passed away in 2016.
Everyone is invited to gather to honor, remember and celebrate Brenda’s life at visiting hours on Tuesday February 18, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. A prayer service will be held during visiting hours.
Brenda will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Ray at St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone at a later date.
