Edna Elaine (White) Semonian, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6 at Blaire House in Tewksbury. She was the widow of the late Ralph G. Semonian Sr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.
Edna was born in Boston on September 12, 1938, a daughter of the late George White and the late Dorothy (Taylor) White. She was raised and educated in Somerville and Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. Edna and Ralph settled and raised their children in Chelmsford, living there for almost 50 years
Edna was employed as a secretary for over 20 years before illness forced her early retirement. She also volunteered at Lowell General Hospital for many years, despite her health struggles.
Edna had a knack for many types of arts and crafts, especially quilting, which brought her so much joy. She made many beautiful and intricate quilts over the years. While living in Chelmsford she was a member of The Mill Girls Quilting Club. Edna also enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlework, crocheting and knitting, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Chelmsford Garden Club, along with her husband Ralph. Edna enjoyed traveling, and was able to visit many destinations with her husband over the years. More than anything, Edna enjoyed spending time with her family.
Whether quilting, gardening, or cooking, Edna put love into everything she did.
She is survived by her children, Ralph Semonian, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Westford, and Gail Burger and her husband, Joseph, of Tewksbury, and Carl Semonian and his fiancee Christina St. Pierre of Georgetown. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Joseph and Jamie Burger, whom she treasured. Additionally she leaves her siblings, Dorothy Baldi and her husband John of Rockland, George White and his wife, Lesa, of Manchester, NH., and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph G. Semonian, Sr. who passed away on December 18, 2024.
