Obituary

SHREWSBURY__Vity W. Anish, 85, of Shrewsbury passed away Tuesday, August 8th in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Loretta E. (Lynch) Anish, a son, Wayne A. Anish and his wife Linda of Millbury, and his dog “Bourbon”. He was born in Worcester, the son of Felix F. and Katherine (Daltuva) Anish and lived in Shrewsbury for the past 40 years. He retired in 1983 as a plant accounting supervisor for New England Electric System, where he worked for 42 years. He was also a partner with his son for 20 years owning and operating “Art Frame, Inc.” Vity was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during WW II on the USS Ranger in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. Mr. Anish graduated from North High School in 1935, and attended Clark University and the New England School of Accounting. He was an avid snow skier having an annual season pass at Mt. Wachusett. Vity was also a skilled billiard player, frequently at Boston Billiards, belonging to two leagues. He won several trophies for his billiard skill.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 12, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, August 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
