Kenneth L. Souza, 79, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Capone) Souza for 53 years. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Dorothy (Baldaia) Souza.
For Ken his family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his son, Kris Souza and his wife Cory of Westport, and his granddaughter Lauryn Stella whom he adored.
He is also survived by his brother Paul Souza and his wife Ann, and nephew Jeremy Souza, all of Swansea.
Ken was very proud of his time in the military. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he received 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 207 of Westport and the Westport V.F.W. Post 8502.
Ken worked for the telephone company for 43 years and retired from Verizon in 2008.
Ken was a sports enthusiast cheering on all Boston teams especially his beloved Red Sox. He loved to ski, golf and fish and enjoyed traveling to Europe, the islands and throughout the United States.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday from 4-8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
