Young, Choy Fong (nee Wong), age 79, passed away on February 7, 2025. Choy Fong lived a fruitful and happy life in Jamaica Plain for over 50 years. Choy Fong immigrated from China via Hong Kong after marrying her childhood sweetheart, the late, Wai Wun in her early 20’s. Choy captured Wai’s heart in grade school with her elegant and effortless beauty and her little laughs at her future husband’s antics. They were together for over almost 70 years, raised a family of four, and celebrated their grandchildren’s many birthdays, recitals, sports games, and graduations. Choy made the best fried rice, cheered for her home teams while watching football, volleyball, and basketball along with her Chinese series and films, and loved to play mah jong and slot machines as long as she was playing with her friends and family. Choy Fong was gracious, funny and affable. Choy Fong is survived by her daughter Joan Chan, her husband Keith Chan and their sons Bailey and Evan; her son, Howard Young; her son Henry Young, his wife Celina and their children Brady, Emmy and Harley; and her youngest daughter Belinda Fernando, her husband Yohan Fernando and their children Aiden and Vivian. Choy also leaves behind her beloved five siblings, and countless treasure nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Choy Fong will be remembered for her kindness and easy- going, affectionate nature. Visiting hours at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, 10 Tower Street.
