Pamela Lee Woods. 80, of East Providence died peacefully Wednesday February 5, 2025 at Elmhurst Health Care Center in Providence.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Albert and Venita (Leonard) Whitaker, Sr. Pam was raised in East Providence where she resided for most of her life and graduated from East Providence High School class of 1962.
For several years Pam lived in Chula Vista, California outside San Diego while her husband was serving with the United States Navy.
In her earlier years Pam worked for Marvin’s Cleaning Company.
Pam was employed for over 47 years with Carla Corporation in East Providence as an inventory control specialist. Pam was a diligent and dedicated employee having worked up until 2024 when she retired due to health concerns. Pam considered her coworkers at Carla part of her extended family.
Pam was a self-proclaimed “shop-aholic”, forever in search of a good deal.
Pam adorned herself with her trademark jewelry displaying her own special sense of style. She rocked along to the music of the 60 and 70s and up to some of today’s greatest hits. Pam was a definite movie buff as her collection of DVDs would attest.
Pam had a special soft spot in her heart for all animals and truly loved her pets including 3 Siamese cats and her King Charles cavalier spaniel.
Pam enjoyed dining out and spending time with her good friends inclining her longtime best friend and neighbor Linda DeMendonca.
Pam will be remembered for her love for her family, friends and coworkers.
Pam is survived by her son Daniel James Woods, Jr. and his companion Caroline and his late wife Georgia Woods (who passed away in 2013), and her daughter Wendy Ann Morrissette and her companion John Barone all of Riverside. Pam was the proud and loving grandmother of Dorian, Alex, Travis, Shelby and Tyler. She was the sister of Albert Whitaker, III of East Providence and is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Pam was the former wife of the late Daniel James Woods, Sr. who passed away in 2021.
In accordance with Pam’s wishes her services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
