WORCESTER - Diane C. (Shevchenko) Pozzi, 72, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, January 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born on December 25, 1952, in Worcester, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Mark and Beulah (Senecal) Shevchenko.
She is outlived by her beloved partner of 28 years, Fred Petrone; daughters, Wendy Palermo and Lori Lovett; her son-in-law Dax Lovett; granddaughters Skylar Palermo and Taylor Lovett.
She also leaves behind her brothers Thomas and Stephen Shevchenko, her aunt Jean Senecal, her daughter’s father Patrick Pozzi, and many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Diane graduated from North High School, Class of 1971. Aside from raising her daughters, she was a private housekeeper and worked as a teacher’s aide for some time.
Diane was a self-taught seamstress, making clothes when her children were small, and enjoyed tailoring clothes for friends and family. Her hobbies included ceramics and some flower arranging. She loved to bake; everyone loved her birthday cakes, with scratch-made buttercream frosting, and especially her famous ‘cinnamon roll’ cookies. She spent much of her time over the years caring for her grandchildren, grand-dogs, and even her neighbors’ pets and children.
Relatives and friends are invited to FAZIO FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, February 22 from 10am to 12pm to celebrate Diane’s life. The prayer service will be at 12:00pm.
