GILMANTON --- Helen Michel Schricker, 98, of Tepi Lane, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Helen was born on April 14, 1926, in Pforzheim, Germany, the daughter of the late Wilheim Michel and Gertrude (Reuss) Michel.
Helen, known as “Oma” to all who knew her, enjoyed swimming, bird watching, plants, gardening, cooking German meals for her family, taking drives in the fall and spring flower. She volunteered at Mountain View two days a week for coffee hour with the girls. Helen was a seamstress at MKM and she and her husband owned and operated a laundromat in Manchester, NH, for 8 years. Helen was an active member in the Gilmanton Women’s Club until it had disbanded in 2019.
Helen is survived by her daughter Karen Walton and her husband Jonathan, of Laconia, NH; stepson David Schricker, of Stratham, NH; grandchildren Tim Lafoe, Ian Walton, and Dianna Walton; niece Beth Chenier and her husband Richard, of Tiverton, RI, and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Oma is predeceased by her husband Earl Schricker; brothers Helmut Michel and Rudi Michel; sisters Julie Relmann and Gertrud Kastner; and stepdaughter Nancy Schricker.
There will be no calling hours.
