Rosamond V. Dupont, 89, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully Saturday February 1, 2025 at The Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville. She was the loving wife of the late John G. Dupont. They were married in 1961 and shared over 38 years together until his passing in 1999.
Born and raised in Blackstone she was a daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Cassidy) Prior. She was a graduate of Blackstone High School. She was a resident of Woonsocket since in 1960.
In her earlier years Rosamond worked as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone Company. She then worked as a dietician at Woonsocket Hospital/Landmark Medical Center following in the footsteps of her mother who was a longtime nurse.
Rosamond took meticulous care of her home and yard. Each season she delighted in cultivating her flower garden to achieve the full beauty of the season.
Rosamond will be remembered as a quiet and gentle lady who was devoted to her family.
Rosamond had a special place in her heart for her furry canine companion “CJ”. They formed an instant connection, a close tight bond from the moment they met. CJ was by her side morning, noon and night right up until the time Rosamond passed from this life.
Rosamond is survived by her two sons John Dupont of Woonsocket and his companion Joanne Loughlin of Sandwich, MA and Dennis Dupont of Norwich, CT. She was the grandmother of Hunter and Mackenzie. She was the sister of the late William and Charles Prior. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
In accordance with her wishes Rosamond was laid to rest alongside her beloved husband John in a private service at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
