Donald I. Curtin, Sr., age 90, of Woburn, formerly of Lynn and Saugus, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. Donald was the son of the late John F. Curtin and Dorothy M. (West) Curtin. He graduated from Saugus High School Class of 1953.
Donald is survived by his children and grandchildren; Dr. Timothy J. Curtin, his children Ana and Isabel Curtin of Marblehead; Daniel D. Curtin, his wife Diane and their children, Adam, Alex and Olivia Curtin of Berlin, CT; Lorraine D. Nicholl and her husband Don of Marblehead; Donald I. Curtin, Jr., his wife Brenda, and their children Jack and Sadie Curtin of Nashua, NH; and John D. Curtin and his wife Julie Skolds of Medford. He is the former husband of the late Shirley M. (Traversy) Curtin.
He is also the brother of Dorothy M. (Curtin) Melanson and her late husband Thomas of Peabody. Donald is the brother of the late Kenneth Curtin of Lynn, the late David Curtin of Burlington, and the late Joan Johnston and her late husband Robert of Saugus. He is uncle to nieces, Leah Curtin of Topsfield and Janet Hurley of Salem, NH.
Donald maintained friendships with many of his former in-laws including June Southwick and her late husband Arthur of Salem, NH, the late Joseph Traversy, and the late Donald Traversy.
Donald proudly served in the United States Army between 1956- 1959. He worked as a painter at Lincoln Labs in Bedford for almost 20 years. He enjoyed attending car shows where he often displayed his award-winning 1966 Chevy Impala convertible and 1978 Pontiac Bonneville Landau.
Donald`s wishes of cremation with no services are being honored by his family. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Jimmy Fund in Donald`s name.
