Obituary

LIMERICK- Rachyl Rosemary Banville, 24, of Limerick, Maine sadly took her own life after a long struggle with anxiety and depression and died on February 4th, 2025, at Maine Medical Center. Rachyl was born on February 10th, 2000, to Bonnie Brann and Robert Banville. Despite Rachyl’s struggles, she was a loving, devoted mother to 2 children, Francheska Rose Jones (5) and Thatcher Raymond Banville (3). Her happiest times were spending weekends snuggling and playing with her children. She often spent weekends finding activities that would give them all wonderful memories. Rachyl’s anxiety and depression led to a period when addiction controlled her, however she had been clean almost 7 years at the time of her death, and other than her children she was most proud of her sobriety. Rachyl and her family are thankful to Day One for helping Rachyl reach her goals that allowed her to graduate with her peers at Massabesic High School. Rachyl adored the patients she supported at St. Andre’s Health Care during her time working there and later went on to start her own cleaning business. Rachyl will continue to be celebrated by her parents, Bonnie and Bobby, 4 siblings, Alyson, Amanda, Eryn, and Christopher, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She will also continue to be anonymously thanked by the 4 organ recipients and their families thanks to Rachyl’s generous gift of life. Rachyl’s family urges anyone who is struggling with depression to reach out for help. The world is a better place with you in it.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday Feb. 14th from 3 - 5 PM, followed by a time of sharing to celebrate Rachyl's life at 5 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
