Obituary

Joanne F. Maggiacomo, 84, of Winthrop and formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in her longtime Somerville home.

Born in Malden, Joanne was and raised in Somerville to the late Antonio and Angelina Spinazola, she cherished her roots while embracing life’s many adventures. She was the loving wife of the late John Maggiacomo, with whom she shared a life full of love and partnership.

Joanne was a devoted mother to Chris Maggiacomo and his significant other Claire of Somerville, and John Maggiacomo and his wife Melanie of Andover. Devoted grandmother of Julia, Nicholas, Gabriella, and Anthony. Joanne was also a cherished sister to Stephen Spinazola and his wife Sandy, and Richard Spinazola and his significant other Maria. Her role as a loving aunt to Laurill, Richie, Matthew, and Zach Spinazola brought her immense joy. Joanne's life was deeply enriched by her many godchildren, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends she held dear.

Throughout her diverse careers, she had the opportunity to connect with countless individuals building meaningful relationships that endured over the years. Whether spending time with friends during club nights, entertaining loved ones, or celebrating holidays with family, Joanne will always be remembered for the love, strength, and energy she brought to every moment.

A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel 302 Elm St. Everett, MA on Tuesday, Feb 11th at 11:00 AM. Please meet at the chapel inside the main gate by 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory or to a charity of your choice as Joanne donated to many causes throughout her life.
