Dorothy Jane Nichols Grant, 69, of Enigma passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County with the Rev. Jimmy Parker, the Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. and the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mrs. Grant will be laid to rest at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Buddy Nichols, David Nichols, Jonathan Nichols, Jeffrey Nichols, Carl Nichols, Garvie Nichols Jr., Jesse Harper, Joe Grant, Jimmy Kilpatrick and Mike Kilpatrick will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 12, 1955, in Tifton, Mrs. Grant was the daughter of the late James Dovward Nichols and Aline Conger Nichols. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey Nichols, Charles Nichols and Johnny Nichols; and one sister, Glenda Grizzard. Before retiring, she taught school in the Berrien County School System for 30 years; and she was a member of Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband, Joseph “Jimmy” Grant of Enigma; one son, Joe Grant of Enigma; one daughter, Kendra Grant of Enigma; and four brothers, Garvie Nichols, Sr., Calloway Nichols, Henry Nichols and Kenny Nichols, all of Berrien County.
