Margaret Louise Hair, 92, of Marietta, Georgia (formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia) died Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Cobb Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Central Wesleyan Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Honorable Robert W. “Bobby” Chasteen officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary on Sunday.
Ms. Hair was born April 27, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late George Warbington and Bernice Brooks Warbington. She was a 1949 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was the band’s drum majorette from 1946 until 1949, especially during the State Championship season of 1948. She helped organize reunions of the local players and cheerleaders every 5 or 10 years from 1963 to 2012.
She married Joe Hair in 1956 and they had two sons, Joe Jr. and Jeff. Joe Sr. died in 1997 and in 2013, Margaret married Robert Lane Hall. In 2023, Robert died and Margaret moved to Marietta to be close to family.
Margaret is survived by her son, Dr. Joe F. Hair, Jr and his wife, Diana S Hair and their children and spouses Joanna Loree Hair, Esq. (Courteney Hinkson) and Dr. Jackson Brooks Hair (Kathleen Hair).
Jeff Hair passed away in March of 2019 and Margaret is survived by his wife, Donna Hair of Oakwood, Georgia and their son Payton Walker, his wife Tara and their daughter Maya of Call Texas and daughter Brittani, her husband Shema and their daughter Claire, all of Tifton, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ann Warbington Snowden. Nieces and nephew surviving Margaret are Frances Snowden Hamrick (Bobby) of Gainesville, their daughter Leanne Reith (Mark) and daughter Ellie of Cumming, Bill Snowden of Fitzgerald, and Ann Vail of Gainesville.
