Mrs. Virginia A. (O’Brien) Cahill, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late John P. Cahill, passed away at the Bridges by Epoch in Andover on Monday morning, February 3, 2025. She was 92 years old.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on October 20, 1932, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jeremiah F. and Mary A. (Madore) O’Brien. Virginia was a graduate of Boston College and had been employed as a Registered Nurse for Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. A very giving woman, Virginia was a caregiver that would always put others needs ahead of her own. A devout Catholic, Virginia was an active member of St. Augustine Church in Andover. She loved to volunteer, playing the piano at Marland Place and the Wingate in Andover. She was also a member of the Andover Senior Center. Virginia will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving, son and daughter-in-law; Joseph P. and his wife Melissa E. Cahill of Andover, daughter and son-in-law; Janine M. and her husband, David G. Brady, Jr. of Oakland, Tennessee, brother and sister-in-law; Thomas and his wife Geraldine O’Brien of Andover, grandchildren; John and his wife Katina Cahill, Michael Cahill and Laura and her husband Jonathan Daniels, Ashley Minks and Steven Brady, great-grandchildren; J.J. Cahill, Ryder Daniels, Lucy Cahill, and Hailey and Hayden Minks and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Rev. Gerard S.J. and Allan O’Brien and dear friend of the late Raymond Cabot.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
