Elaine I Harrop, 83, of Rockland MA, joined her soulmate, George T Allen in heaven on February 3, 2025.
Elaine was born on September 3, 1941 to Lucille and Frank Drapeau. She was the last surviving sister to the late Gloria Presbury, her twin brother Roger Drapeau, Muriel Farrell, and Jaqueline Boutin.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Thomas Farrell, her children; Scott Harrop, James and Rubina Harrop, Robyn and Sean Hamaker, and Christopher and Michelle Harrop. She was Nanny to her Grandchildren; Jaimie Raposa, Sean Hamaker Jr, Mario Cardillo, Carrie Harrop, Brittni Elaine Hamaker, Katreona Harrop, Connor Harrop and Charlie Harrop; and her Great – Grandchildren; Kevin, Amiyah, Carmelo, Cohen, Parker, Gracie, Estrella, Maverick, and Cecilia-Rose. She is also loved by nieces and nephews.
Elaine worked at Hasbro Toy Company for 10 years and then became a stay-at-home mom. While raising her children, she was a CCD teacher at Our Lady of Consolation. She was also a den mother for her boys with Boys Scouts of America. Elaine was adored by so many people, and everyone in her life would say how selfless and kind she was. She was a true nurturer; you could tell Elaine anything without judgement and she would always have the best advice. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her loved ones, but more than anything, she loved to shop and shower everyone with presents. Elaine was a strikingly beautiful woman who was always one of the most fashionably dressed wherever she went. Her humble spirit just made everyone around her feel as beautiful as she was.
Please join us to celebrate her life on March 4, 2025 at 11:00am, at Promiseland Church 123 Centre Ave, Abington, MA 02351.
Elaine loved children and in 1967, her son was one of the first infants in Rhode Island, under the age of 1, to undergo lifesaving heart surgery for “Tetralogy of Fallot” a trauma that made her connect with a child in the most giving way. To honor her, in lieu of flowers, a collection will be taken on the day of the service, or you can Venmo @Brittni-Hamaker. These donations will be used to purchase gifts for hospitalized children from the Hasbro Children’s Hospital Amazon Wishlist in Elaine’s name.
