Marguerite Rose (Nahigian) Sarkisian (Marni), formerly of Weston, MA, died on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Artis Senior Living in Lexington, MA. She was 94 years old. Marni was the daughter of Moses and Rose Nahigian and grew up in Brookline and Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1948, and from Lasell College in 1950, and worked as a medical secretary for several years until her son was born. Marni was married to Edward A. Sarkisian for 61 years until his passing in 2017. She leaves her son James E. Sarkisian (Jamie) and his fiancé Ann S. Murphy. She was also predeceased by her brothers John Nahigian and Russell Nahigian. She also leaves many relatives including her sister-in-law Carol Nahigian, of Arlington, MA and her family: Thomas Nahigian and his wife Armine, Susan Duffy and her husband Robert, Laura O’Connell and her husband Michael, and her nephews J. Victor Nahigian and his wife Robin, and Robert Nahigian and his wife Donna, from Weston, MA.

Marni had a wonderful life and touched so many people with her sparking personality and memorable style. It was her beautiful demeanor that captured Eddie’s heart when he met her at the beach in Asbury Park, NJ in 1955, where she was vacationing with her cousin Rose and other Armenian friends. Eddie came over to her beach blanket and was captivated by her. He courted her like a true gentleman and traveled almost every weekend to see her from his home in New Jersey. They were engaged later that year and married on June 2, 1956. She and Eddie traveled around the world from Europe to China, Mexico, St. Maarten and all over the U.S. She loved her home in Weston and was especially proud of her yard and gardens that she and Eddie created.

Marni was very active in the Weston community volunteering and participating in many causes. She was a member of the Weston Garden Club, Women’s Community League Clothing Exchange, Inter-Faith Group and International Food Group. She volunteered at Jamie’s schools and was a Den Mother for his Cub Scout group. Marni’s passions included gardening, entertaining in her Weston home, cooking gourmet meals, dining out, playing tennis, playing bridge with Eddie and friends, swimming at the Weston Pool, the Red Sox and playing the piano. She often entertained her neighbors at Artis Senior Living with her piano playing classical pieces such as Beethoven’s “Fur Elise,” “Minuet in G” and “Moonlight Sonata.”
Marni and Eddie were members of GIDEONS International and were devoted to their Christian faith. Marni was also devoted to her church, First Armenian Church of Belmont where she served as a Sunday School instructor for many years and established a Couples Club.
