Mrs. Carol (Caruso) Towle, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late James Towle, passed away at her home on Monday, January 27, 2025. Born in Andover, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Palmegiano) Caruso. She spent much of her life as a teacher in Dracut, MA. “Mrs. Towle” was beloved by the many students she had in her 36 year career. In her retirement, Carol never seemed to slow down. She loved playing Mah Jong, volunteering at the Andover Senior Center, and going out with her friends; her calendar was always booked. Carol was also an accomplished artist. She enjoyed painting places she visited all over the world with her husband as well as creating new works of art for family and friends. Carol will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter Lindsay Towle of Westfield, MA, step-daughters Michele and her husband John Barrett of Arnold, MD, and Melissa Towle of Arnold, MD, and grandchildren Jack and Alex Barrett. She is also survived by her brother Joseph and his wife Sandra Caruso of Savannah, GA, nieces Kim and her husband Bill Newbauer of Fairfield, CT, and Karyn and her husband John Buckman of Savannah, GA, and several grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
Visitation hours for Carol will be held at the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, MA on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 2-4pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Donations in Carol's memory may be made to Lawerence Italian Ladies Lodge, 33 Wedgwood Rd, Lawrence, MA 01843.
