CHICOPEE – Daniel J. Gagne, 92, formerly of Olko Circle in Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at the Brookside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Webster surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on October 4, 1932, a beloved son of the late Leo and Irene (Daniel) Gagne. He was raised in Springfield and moved to Chicopee in 1963. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army with Company G 31st Infantry Regiment and attained the rank of Private 2nd Class. He was last employed as an Industrial Mechanical Engineer for the Rexnord Company in Springfield. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Roberta E. (Fish) Gagne who was Called Home on February 22, 2013. They were married on October 29, 1955 at the Cathedral of Saint Michael the Archangel in Springfield and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. He leaves his loving son, David J. Gagne and his wife, Cynthia, of Johnstown, CO, his loving daughter, Kimberly R. Kennedy and her partner, Mario Gonzalez, of Cleveland, OH; his five cherished grandchildren, Daniel Gagne, Dylan Gagne, Kyle Gagne, Ryan Peacey and Megan Peacey; his three cherished great-granddaughters, Addison, Aubree and Penelope Cwicklinski; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his loving son, Richard J. Gagne who was Called Home on January 20, 2018; and his dear brother, Louis R. Gagne who was Called Home on October 10, 2020. His Committal Service with United States Military Honors will be private for his family at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
