Delia I. (Hammond) Parker, 89, of New Bedford, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Calvin H. Parker.
Mrs. Parker was born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Alonzo and Gladys (Pease) Hammond. She grew up in Acushnet and had been a longtime resident of New Bedford. She taught roller skating at the former Lincoln Park and was an avid roller skater for 25 years. She enjoyed drawing, bowling and going to breakfast at Village Cafe, Dartmouth where she made many friends. Her greatest joy was taking care of and spending time with John.
Survivors include her son: John J. McCorkle Parker of New Bedford; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was the sister of the late Jessie Walker, Francis Hammond and Earl Hammond.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 16, 2025 at Tabor Cemetery, Acushnet at 10:00A.M.
