TILTON ---- Peter Matthew Hoey, 66, of Noyes Road, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Peter was born on September 2, 1958, in Laconia, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Fogg) Hoey.
He was a master machinist at various shops and was very talented although was always very humble. When difficult and technical jobs arose, it automatically became a “Pete job”. In 2001 he founded Hoey Machine Company, where he worked endless hours to accommodate all of his customers until his retirement in 2020 that he appreciated, somehow balancing attending all of his girls’ sports games which he enjoyed.
He treated his daughter’s friends as if they were his own and had the best sense of humor always finding a way to make people smile. After losing his youngest daughter, and after his retirement, his grandsons became his life and until his recent illness, he enjoyed being at the field and courts watching them in their sporting events. He never wanted to miss a game, traveling as far as South Carolina and beyond, regardless of how he felt always cheering on the sidelines for the teams.
Peter is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Laurie L. (Maguire) Hoey, daughter Sarah A. Hoey, grandchildren Carter M. Lloyd and Kobe L. Lloyd, and their father Earnest L. Lloyd, brother Larry Hoey and his partner Brenda Terrio and William Hoey and sister Ann Dutile and her husband Peter, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Peter is predeceased by his beloved daughter Margaret “Meg” Hoey, sisters Jane Kidder and Kathleen Lavoie, and brother Richard Hoey.
