Louie Cornelius Ogletree, 81, of Lenox passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Nix officiating. Mr. Ogletree will be laid to rest at Staunton Cemetery in Lenox. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Caleb Harnage, Darren Goff, Chris Watts, Corey McGee, Daniel Ogletree and James Ogletree will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Durl Baldree and Ed Ray.
Born December 13, 1943, in Thomas County, Mr. Ogletree was the son of the late Eddie Franklin Ogletree and Stella Lee Howell Ogletree. He was also preceded in death by one son, Bradley Ogletree; several brothers; and two sisters, Joyce Ogletree Loyed and Loyce Ogletree Prescott. Before retiring, he worked as a mechanic at Patrick’s Tractor Company; and he was a member of Lenox Baptist Church. He loved his children; his grandchildren; and he loved his animals. He worked hard at home and at work. He was the “Rock of the Family” and a very humble and giving man. He loved Gospel music.
Mr. Ogletree is survived by his wife and the “love of his life”, Willa “Wynell Watts Ogletree of Lenox; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Mandy Ogletree of Lenox; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Wynell and Billy McGee of Nashville; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
