Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much affection that we mourn the passing of Lisa Lynn Coolidge, 59, of Mashpee, Massachusetts. Lisa died peacefully on January 30, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous eighteen-month battle with a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.

Born to George and Laurallee Coolidge (Pierce), Lisa grew up on Hanscom AFB and later, Hyannis Massachusetts. She was a 1983 graduate of Barnstable High School, and attended the University of Massachusetts and Springfield College. She spent her adult life living and working all over the country as a traveling Occupational Therapist, until she returned to the Cape 15 years ago after landing her dream job.

Lisa found her life’s passion working as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at the Spaulding Outpatient Center for Children in Sandwich. She joined the organization in 2009 as a "traveler" and never left. Over the years, she became a seasoned clinician and a mentor to others. A creative and engaging therapist, parents sought her out. She took great pride and joy in helping her “kiddos” as she affectionately called them. Lisa’s true superpower was her ability to see the whole child and treat them with respect and care.

Lisa adored her nieces and nephews, and time spent with family at the beach and on the ski slopes. She shared her life with a wide circle of friends and work colleagues, enjoying trips to sunny, warm locations, live music, food and wine festivals, and the outdoors. Lisa loved the sand and the waves. On most sunny summer weekends, you could find her in her lounge chair at her favorite spot on South Cape Beach. She was a bright and generous spirit who made friends everywhere she went.

Lisa will be forever missed by her father, George Coolidge, her sisters Leslie (Daniel) Hennessey and Caroline (Michael) Partridge, her six nieces and nephews; Conor (Chelsea) Hennessey, Emma (James) Bentil, Elizabeth Hennessey, Will, Claire, and Tessa Partridge, her two grandnephews, Jack and Owen, and many friends--her "other" family, whom she cherished. She was predeceased by her mother, Laurallee Coolidge.

A celebration of life ceremony followed by a lunch reception will commence at 11 am on Sunday, March 2nd at the Pelham House Resort, 14 Sea Street in Dennis Port, MA.

The family wishes to thank the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich for the care they provided to Lisa, and the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center; especially Dr. Edwin Choy, who championed her treatment decisions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa’s name to The McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA and People for Cats in Teaticket, MA
