Obituary

WEBSTER - Nancy J. (Racicot) O’Leary,79, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 31,2025, in UMass/Memorial Hospital University Campus. Her beloved husband of 46 years with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories, John R. O’Leary, Sr., died in 2014.

She found immense joy in her family, always putting them first in her life. She is survived by her four children: Kathleen M. Pepin and her husband Scott of Douglas, Anne O’Leary Dauksz and her husband James Dauksz of Clermont, FL, John R. O’Leary Jr. and his wife Kirsten of Norfolk, and Meghan Healy and her husband Matthew of Charlton; Nancy’s greatest pride was her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She was the adored grandmother of Matthew S. Pepin and his wife Kayla, Michael D. Pepin and his wife Caroline, Mark T. Pepin, Savana G. O’Leary-Dauksz, Nikolas J. O’Leary- Dauksz, Brendan D. O’Leary, Sean T. O’Leary, Colin J. O’Leary, Emma G. Healy and Norah J. Healy. She treasured every moment spent with them, always ready with a warm hug, wise advice, or a shared laugh. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her great-grandson who is due in August. She also leaves her cat Spooky. She was preceded in death by a sister Junice Marchand and 2 brothers Leonard Racicot and Kenneth Racicot.

She was born on February 11, 1945 in Webster a daughter of Theodore L. and Iona (Burbee) Racicot and graduated from Saint Louis School in 1963. She attended the Saint Vincent School of Nursing in Worcester graduating as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Nancy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those she held dear.

Nancy was a dedicated nurse anesthetist who spent her career caring for others with compassion and skill. Her commitment to her profession left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the many patients she helped throughout the years. She worked for 17 years at UMass/Memorial Hospital retiring in 1995.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved gathering with family, sharing stories over a glass of wine, and making memories with those she loved. She also had a fondness for visiting Foxwoods Casino, where she relished the thrill of the games and the company of friends.

Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Though she is reunited with her beloved husband, John, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 7, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 6, in the funeral home. The family asks that flowers be omitted and instead donations in her memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Rest in peace, Nancy (aka Mom, Granny). Your love and light will remain with us always.
