Obituary

Patricia M. Simmons passed away peacefully surrounded at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on January 12th. She was 74. A native of Drumblair, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Septumus Simmons and Veronica Williams.

Patricia was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. When she came to the United States as a young woman, she initially lived on 92nd Street in New York City. She served her new homeland as an Army nurse in Vietnam, using what she had learned at Roxbury Community College. After the war she worked as a nurse for many years at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She made her home in Medford for over 40 years and with her generous spirit she was a kind and caring neighbor. She was always helping people. For fun, Patricia enjoyed music, dining out, and travel, especially to Europe.

Patricia was a devoted mother to Arthur S. Simmons of Boston, a dear sister to Hillary Johnsons and Theresa Simmons and a loving aunt to Troy Stuckey.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Mass with cremated remains present celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Raphael’s Church, 512 High St., Medford, on Saturday, February 15th .
