John Badessa, 75, of MacArthur Drive, Smithfield, died Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John D. and Marie B. (Basso) Badessa of Providence. John is survived by his life companion, Linda Campbell, of Smithfield; son John (Melissa) Badessa of Haines City, FL; daughter Kimberly Ferrante of Narragansett, his siblings; Robert Badessa of Scituate, Steven Badessa of West Warwick, Tracy Morgan of Warwick, and the late Lynn Pacheco-Lemois of West Warwick. He is survived by his granddaughters Liliana Badessa, Madison Hagan, Savannah Hagan and many nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
John was a proud retired Providence Firefighter. He was also an accomplished Big Band Jazz drummer and maintained a passion for camping, motorcycle adventures with friends and sport aviation. His latest business endeavor, Aeon Aerospace, took him throughout the United States meeting with elites in the aeronautical industry.
John's life motto was, “Wake Up, Look Up, and Don’t Give Up.”
Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2025, 8:30 - 11:00 am, at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Providence Permanent Firefighters Relief Association at P.O. Box 28054, North Station Providence, RI 02908.
